Aberdeen-based Johnston Carmichael Wealth, owned by 7IM group’s Partners Wealth Management, has appointed Leigh Townsley as a Chartered Financial Planner.

Ms Townsley has 25 years of experience in financial services, including 18 years as a qualified Financial Planner.

She has work at several firms, including NFU Mutual, where she spent more than 12 years as a Chartered Financial Adviser, specialising in complex Financial Planning for rural and agricultural clients.

More recently, she worked at Glasgow’s Lomond Wealth for six years, where she contributed to upholding and delivering the firm’s client proposition.

She holds a BA in Financial Services and advanced qualifications in pension planning, taxation, and trusts. She is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Certified Financial Planner.

In her new Glasgow-based role, she will support Johnston Carmichael Wealth in providing a range of Financial Planning services, including retirement planning, estate and wealth management and protection. 

Ms Townsley said: “I believe in making financial planning approachable and effective. Clients want to feel heard and supported, and my role is to understand their goals and help them make sense of an often complex landscape.

Johnston Carmichael’s Wealth division, now comprises 15 Financial Planners and a broader team of more than 60 professionals. The firm’s strategy is to expand its wealth services across Scotland and the UK. 

Johnston Carmichael Wealth became part of Partners Wealth Management earlier this year following its acquisition from Johnston Carmichael for an undisclosed sum.

As part of the transaction, Johnston Carmichael Wealth retained its existing team, led by managing director and Chartered Financial Planner Craig Hendry.

Partners Wealth Management, part of the 7IM group, was established in 2004 by four founders. It has since grown to a team of 170 that looks after £5bn of assets.
