Three pensions and investments professionals have been nominated for lifelong peerages and are likely to join the House of Lords this year.

Helena Morrissey was described as a “financier and campaigner” on the honours list. She is currently head of personal investing at Legal & General Investment Management as well as an independent non-executive director at St James Place.

Ms Morrissey is also the founder of the 30% Club, which campaigns for gender balance on company boards. She is also the chairwoman of the Diversity project. She was formerly chief executive of Newton Investment Management. She was nominated for a peerage by Boris Johnson.

Frank Field was the chair of the Work and Pensions Select Committee between 2015 and 2019. He left the committee after he was defeated in the general election having already resigned from the Labour Party. His nomination did not come from a political party.

Brinley Davies is the founding director of Union Pension Services. He founded Union Pension Services in 1989 to support trade union pension schemes. He has been a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries since 1979. He was nominated for the peerage by Jeremy Corbyn.
