The CISI is calling on its Financial Planning members to get involved in World Financial Planning Day on Wednesday 3 October and UK Financial Planning Week from 3-10 October.

The consumer-focused campaigns aim to promote the value and benefits of Financial Planning and to encourage consumers to become more capable with their finances.

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment says it is “delighted” to be supporting the Financial Standards Planning Board’s  World Financial Planning Day #WFPD for a second year.

World Financial Planning Day will take place during the UK’s own Financial Planning Week and just after this year’s CISI’s annual two day Financial Planning Conference at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the NEC on 1 and 2 October. This year’s conference has the theme ‘Changing Lives.’

Among the Financial Planning firms supporting Financial Planning Week this year is Northstar in Southampton which is offering free one-hour personal Financial Planning sessions to the public, bookable online. Many other firms are also planning pro-bono drop-in advice sessions.

The CISI will also be encouraging its Financial Planning members to support the event on 3 October by:

•Sharing Articles & Blogs: CFP professionals will serve as experts on financial topics in various media publications.

•Showing their support for the campaign by sharing Financial Planning tips and best practice on social media using #WFPD.

During World Financial Planning Day, FPSB and its global network of member organisations including the CISI, together representing more than 170,000 Certified Financial Planner professionals worldwide, will run activities to promote consumer awareness and understanding of Financial Planning topics.
