3 new members for Financial Services Consumer Panel
The independent Financial Services Consumer Panel, which advises the FCA, has announced three new members.
Erik Porter, Jonathan Hewitt and Julia Mundy have all begun three-year terms as members of the panel which helps influence consumer-related financial services policy and regulation.
They replace Faith Reynolds, Jeff Salway and Teresa Fritz who left the Panel at the end of August.
Panel chair Wanda Goldwag said: “I am very pleased to welcome the new members to the panel. The ever-increasing number of issues requiring the panel’s input is challenging and the consumer landscape of other organisations who can comment on FCA consultations is still thinly resourced.
”It is essential that the voice of the consumer is heard loud and clear in every aspect of the FCA’s work. I am therefore delighted we have been able to appoint three new members of such a high calibre who can help us address these issues.”
Mr Hewitt has 25 years of exprience in retail investments and banking areas such as marketing, business development, strategy and technology.
Ms Mundy is an academic with a background in financial services. Her academic work has covered governance, risk, and accountability.
Mr Porter is a consumer-focused financial services professional with over 20 years’ international experience across banking, consulting and the charity sector.
The Consumer Panel is a statutory body established under the Financial Services Act 2012. The Financial Services Authority originally established it in December 1998.
The panel advises the FCA on the interests and concerns of consumers and its views are independent.
