Accredited Financial Planning firm AAB Wealth has acquired Jane Smith Financial Planning for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is set to take assets under advice for AAB Wealth to over £2.5bn.
Jane Smith Financial Planning was founded by Jane Smith in 1994. It is now run by her daughter Nicola Watts, who joined the business in 2000, and has nine members of staff. The firm has held Chartered Financial Planner status since 2016 and was awarded CISI Accredited status in 2020.
Ms Watts said that a strong cultural fit was important and it was specifically looking to partner with another Accredited Financial Planning firm.
She said: “It was important for us to find a strong cultural fit with another Accredited Financial Planning firm that shares our commitment to true financial planning.
“The scale, infrastructure and continued investment in technology across AAB will enhance the service we provide, while allowing the team here in Olney to remain focused on delivering the high-quality financial planning that sits at the heart of what we do.”
The Jane Smith Financial Planning team will all transfer over to AAB Wealth under the deal, which will also see them rebrand under the AAB banner.
AAB Wealth is the financial advice arm of professional services group AAB which is backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives. Headquartered in Aberdeen, AAB Wealth has been authorised by the FCA since 2014 and was previously known as Anderson Anderson & Brown Wealth Limited.
