The Consumer Duty Alliance has appointed Chartered Financial Planner Jane Hodges to its board.
Ms Hodges will also chair the Alliance’s Cross Border Alliance taskforce, where she will champion better outcomes for clients with international lives and assets.
She will also raise awareness of the relevance of cross-border issues among UK financial advisers.
She brings over 30 years’ of experience across Financial Planning, executive leadership, project management, compliance and technology.
She is a director of digital first IFA Money Honey Financial Planning, holds a fellowship from the PFS, SOLLA accreditation and has the STEP Certificate for Financial Advisers.
Ms Hodges said: “For me, the Alliance stands out because it is led by practitioners, who can bring that lived experience to sharing good practice and improving client outcomes. It is vital that, as a profession, we step up and shape the narrative with our clients, while continuing to work collaboratively with the FCA. We have a shared responsibility to protect our clients and to ensure we are equipped to deliver the best possible outcomes for them.”
The Consumer Duty Alliance launched on 9 March 2023 as a ‘not-for-profit’, independent professional membership body and is formed of a cross-sector alliance of affiliates. Its purpose is to unite the retail financial services sector, to inspire greater confidence and trust in financial advice and financial planning.
The CDA also incorporates the Financial Vulnerability Taskforce, the Retirement Income Taskforce, the Women’s Wealth Alliance, the New Talent Alliance, the Cross Border Alliance and the Consumer Duty Data Forum.
