Financial Planning firm Amber River has appointed Rick Lowe as chief financial officer as it strengthens its leadership team following its acquisition by US private equity firm Stone Point Capital.
Mr Lowe joins the firm from Schroders where he has held a number of senior roles, most recently as COO and CFO of Schroders Greencoat LLP, its renewable infrastructure private markets business.
He succeeds Simon Brunt who is retiring having been with Amber River since its inception in 2019.
Amber River has also appointed Andrew Hunter as chief governance officer. He joins the business from legal firm Brown & Brown Europe where he was chief legal officer.

Ms McIntyre said: “The appointments of Rick and Andrew mark an important and exciting new chapter in Amber River’s journey. We wanted to further strengthen our leadership team with people who share not only our growth ambitions but also are used to being agile and supporting local businesses to thrive and they share our purpose of enriching the lives of our clients, our colleagues and our local communities.”
