BBC journalist Andrew Neil is star guest at RSMR conference
Leading political broadcaster Andrew Neil will be the star guest at Rayner Spencer Mills Research conference next month.
The host of BBC news shows This Week and The Sunday Politics will be the after dinner speaker at the Investment Conference & R Awards night on Wednesday 25 November at Rudding Park Hotel.
Former Sunday Times editor Mr Neil will give a talk to advisers, following the event.
Geoff Mills, RSMR director, said: “Having Andrew Neil as our special guest is the 'icing on the cake' and he will no doubt entertain with his insight and observations on the UK political landscape in his inimitable style. We are all looking forward to another great event.''
The conference will provide an economic overview from Richard Jeffrey, chief economist and CIO at Cazenove Capital.
It will also include four panel discussions with leading fund managers - Richard Buxton at Old Mutual Global Investors, Steven Andrew at M&G, Simon Brazier at Investec and David Coombs at Rathbones.
The speakers will share their views on topical issues and explore the challenges facing advisers and investors today.
The R Award winners will be announced at the networking dinner. The awards recognise those fund managers and fund groups that are most valued by the adviser community.
Whilst RSMR create a shortlist for each award, the winners are voted for exclusively by advisers, making these unique in the industry, the company said.
Mr Mills said: “We are delighted to be running our second conference at Rudding Park in our home county of Yorkshire. This is a great opportunity for advisers to hear from key fund managers, network and also join us for our R Awards and networking dinner.”
The whole event is free for advisers to attend and qualifies for CPD.
Meanwhile, this week, the company is hosting an SRI focussed seminar to coincide with ‘Good Money Week’.
It will be held on Thursday 22 October in Leeds at The Leeds Club and is free for all advisers.
The CPD event will enable advisers to hear from three leading fund management groups, EdenTree, Rathbones and Kames Capital. Each fund group will discuss their ethical investment process providing case studies showing the benefits of an SRI themed approach to portfolios.
