Expanding Financial Planner and wealth manager Atomos has appointed former Rathbones head of advice delivery Andy Greenwood as its national head of Financial Planning.
Mr Greenwood spent 10 years as Rathbones, growing the Financial Planning business from 30 staff to more than 200 by the time he left this year.
At the firm he oversaw advice teams and business integration activities, including the successful integration of Saunderson House which was acquired by the firm for £150m in 2021, and the £1bn merger with Investec Wealth & Investment in 2023.
Prior to that, the Manchester-based man spent 28 years at Royal Bank of Scotland, ending as regional director for the north region.
Atomos said Mr Greenwood's appointment is part of its drive to build one of the UK’s leading and most progressive Financial Planning firms.
He will report to Niral Parekh, managing director of Financial Planning, and assume responsibility for adviser development, proposition delivery, business performance and client outcomes.
Jonathan Polin, CEO of Atomos, said: “Andy’s appointment represents an important step in the continued evolution of our Financial Planning business as we bring together our regional offices, hubs and acquired firms into a single, high-performing national organisation.”
Atomos is a wealth manager headquartered in Bristol and London that provides a full Financial Planning service and bespoke portfolio management. Formerly part of South African financial services group Sanlam Wealth, the private-equity backed business manages £7bn in assets for 13,000 clients.
Atomos has the exclusive right to exchange contracts for the acquisition on or before 14 November. Tavistock says the potential sale to Atomos is subject to definitive documentation and FCA approval.
