Atomos buys 2 regional adviser firms
Financial planning-led wealth manager Atomos is continuing on the acquisition trail with the takeover of two regional advice firms.
Atomos has acquired Shore Financial Planning and Define Wealth, which have become part of Atomos Financial Planning Ltd.
The cost of the two deals has not been disclosed.
In September Atomos acquired female-focused North London Chartered Financial Planner-led Equanimity IFA for an undisclosed sum. Equanimity was set up by Chartered Financial Planner Helen Howcroft.
Plymouth-based Shore Financial Planning was founded by Jon and Alison Treharne. Atomos says the deal expands Atomos’ presence in the Devon and Cornwall areas.
Define Wealth in Reigate, Surrey was set up by Simon Wood-Woolley. Also joining will be Tim Johnson who has long experience serving high-net-worth clients in the South East.
The two businesses will be fully integrated into Atomos by the end of Q1, Atomos says.
Atomos says the latest deals are part of its growth strategy to not only add specialist financial advisers but also to expand its geographical footprint.
Atomos now has a national presence with 15 offices throughout the UK.
Jon Treharne, managing director at Shore Financial Planning, said: "Our business has been built on long-term relationships of trust, and Atomos shares this ethos. We are excited to join a firm with a strong South of England group of offices which is also a modern and progressive business, which matches our values.”
Simon Wood-Woolley, managing director at Define Wealth, said: “With Define joining Atomos, we feel we are now part of a larger organisation with even greater resources and a shared ethos, while retaining the client-focused approach which stays true to who we are at the heart of the business. We think this will bring many benefits to our clients and allow us to grow and secure our business for the future.”
Christopher Kraft, chief commercial officer, Atomos, said: “We are delighted to welcome the highly experienced teams at Shore Financial Planning and Define Wealth into the Atomos fold. We see strong alignment in our philosophies and ways of working which make the businesses a good fit. This is an exciting time for Atomos as we scale up and grow.”
Atomos is a UK-based wealth manager providing a full financial planning service and bespoke portfolio management. It was formerly part of Sanlam Wealth, the private-equity backed business, and is led by CEO Jonathan Polin. The company manages £7bn in assets on behalf of around 13,000 clients.
