Aviva has appointed Canada Life CEO Doug Brown as its new CEO for UK & Ireland Life Insurance.
Mr Brown is currently CEO of Canada Life in the UK but will leave shortly.
He will join Aviva’s group executive committee and report to Aviva Group CEO Amanda Blanc.
He is expected to join Aviva in April and his appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Brown has worked in the financial sector for over 30 and has been at the helm of Canada Life’s UK business for the past six years.
Prior to this he was Canada Life’s UK chief operating officer. He has has also held senior roles at Aviva Europe and AIG Life, UK & Ireland.
He succeeds Angela Darlington who has decided to move away from corporate life and will leave Aviva in April after a handover to Mr Brown.
Aviva’s UK Life provides a number of products including bulk purchase annuities, workplace savings and protection.
