Coventry-based BRI Wealth Management has appointed former Rathbones Group CEO Paul Stockton as a non-executive director, subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Stockton has more than 30 years' experience in wealth and investment management.
He led Rathbones from 2019 to 2025 after serving as group finance director and Managing director of its investment management business.
He has also held senior roles at Old Mutual, Gerrard, Euroclear and Phoenix Group, and served on industry bodies including the FCA Practitioner Panel and PIMFA.
He began his career as a chartered accountant who qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1992.
Dan Boardman-Weston, chief executive of BRI Wealth Management, said: "Paul is one of the most respected figures in UK wealth management and brings exactly the kind of experience we are keen to have around the Board table as BRI enters its next stage of development.”
Mr Stockton said: “BRI’s focus on its personal client relationships and its strong identity in the Midlands will create some exciting opportunities as it pursues its ambitions.”
His appointment follows a period of expansion for BRI, which says it now manages more than £800m in client assets.
In March it acquired West Midlands Wealth Management, adding £50m in additional client assets.
BRI, Founded in 1968, said the acquisitions form part of its long-term strategy to become the leading wealth management business in the Midlands, maintaining long-term client relationships through the delivery of dedicated personal service and quality ongoing advice to valued clients.
BRI said it will continue to invest in its leadership and client facing teams as it grows.
