Financial Planning firm Calton has selected Pilot as its core technology platform for Evergreen, its new support network being launched for self-employed Financial Planners.
The Evergreen network will be led by Hayley Rabbets, who joined Calton from Pilot where she was working on a fixed term contract to support the launch of its advice technology.
The Evergreen network is expected to launch in the second half of 2026 and aims to address growing industry pressure around adviser capacity, barriers to entry and lack of scalable career pathways.
Ms Rabbets said: “There is a clear gap in the market between being employed and building a firm from scratch. For many advisers, neither option works.
“Evergreen is designed to give advisers a viable third path. One that provides the support, structure and community they need, without taking away their independence.”
She said technology was a critical decision. “We needed a platform that allows advisers to run their entire business in one place, without the cost and complexity that typically comes with that. Pilot gives us that foundation and allows us to focus on what matters, which is delivering good advice and building sustainable businesses.”
She said Pilot has been selected as the sole technology platform, to replace fragmented systems with a single integrated solution.
She said the move aims to cut operational complexity and cost, allowing advisers and Planners to focus on client work rather than managing multiple tools.
Pilot was founded by practising advisers, Nick Ryan and partner Dave Mills, whose experience in building and running advice firms has shaped the platform’s design.
Mr Ryan said: “Evergreen is addressing a structural issue in the market. There are talented advisers who want to build something of their own, but the path to doing that has become too difficult, too expensive, and too fragmented.
“Having built an advice firm myself, I know how much time and energy is lost to systems that do not properly connect. Pilot was built to remove that friction.”
Calton is a Financial Planning firm founded by Tom Ham in 2021. It is headquartered in Edinburgh, with offices in London and the Scottish Borders.
Mr Ham said he has planned an initiative like Evergreen since the launch of Calton in 2021.
