Chartered planner launches new specialist divorce service
A Chartered Financial Planner is making use of her own experience of divorce to launch a new service for separating couples.
Tamsin Caine, head of Financial Planning at Smart Financial in Altrincham, is spearheading Smart Divorce. Ms Caine was divorced in 2017 and has since seen a huge increase in being approached for advice in this area by friends and acquaintances.
Ms Caine, who has 12 years of experience as a planner, said: “I know what it's like going through divorce myself and have dealt with many clients going through similar situations. I am therefore ideally placed, in terms of personal and professional experience, to offer a specialist financial planning service for divorcees.
“Being able to empathise with clients makes it an even more powerful offering”.
She said: “Separation and the divorce that often follows are incredibly stressful, emotional and life changing experiences, whether you instigated it or not. The two main issues that couples need to resolve relate to any children of the marriage and the division of finances.
“The way in which we work with our clients is ideally suited to helping clients to try to resolve financial issues.
“I am keen to help others in this situation to come out the other side with an understanding of their finances, knowing how to move forward in the best way for them. I want to give them peace of mind and a view of their life post-divorce in a positive way as a new start.”
The new service launch coincides with 10 years in business for Smart Financial.
Smart CEO Steve Martin said he was “really proud and excited” to launch the new service.
He said: “We have been working in this area for some time but felt that we could serve the market much better if we built a specialist division focused entirely on the challenges that divorce presents. Tamsin’s experience and background makes her the perfect person to lead this new division and she does so with the full support of the full Smart team.”
The Smart Divorce website is due to go live at the beginning of March, with a broad range of information on offer including a number of articles written by Ms Caine.
The firm has lined up a number of guest bloggers, including an introduction agent, travel consultant, fitness specialist, and family lawyers.
