The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is to move its headquarters and London base from the Walkie Talkie building to 30 Old Broad Street from 2 March.
The move comes as the CII’s five-year lease at the Walkie Talkie (20 Fenchurch Street) comes to an end in February.
The CII, parent body of the Personal Finance Society, was previously based at Insurance Hall, Aldermanbury, from 1934 to 2018, before moving to 21 Lombard Street, and then 20 Fenchurch Street in 2021.
In choosing its new location, the CII said it was keen to provide the opportunity for its members to have access to a meeting space and other facilities on a flexible basis, which has proved more challenging at its current home.
The new location is a short distance from the Walkie Talkie Building, about a 10-15 minute walk away, and is close to the Gherkin building.
Matthew Hill, chief executive of the CII Group, said: “The Walkie Talkie building has served us well for five years, but we were keen to see what more we could offer our colleagues and members. We’re excited to be moving to a building that will give us more space, more flexibility and better value for money.
“I am also expecting it to provide us with an opportunity to honour the memory of Brian Caruth, whose exceptional service and dedication to our professions will never be forgotten.”
The CII is the London-based professional body which awards the Chartered Financial Planner designation among other designations. It has 122,000 members.
The Chartered Insurance Institute's sister organisation is the Personal Finance Society (PFS) which has 40,000 members and aims to drive professional standards in the financial advice and associated sectors.
