The Financial Planning profession is gradually becoming more diverse globally, according to the CEO of global Financial Planning body the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB).
Dante De Gori CFP, CEO of the FPSB told delegates at the CISI’s annual Financial Planning Conference in Windsor today that over 60% of those who achieved CFP certification last year were under 40 and nearly four in 10 were female.
In 2025 32,534 Financial Planners took CFP exams across the world boosting the profession globally to more than 236,000 CFP Professionals.
Financial Planners under the age of 50 now account for 61% of all CFP professionals, he said, with younger Financial Planners becoming far more common.
However, he said the global Financial Planning profession continues to be male dominated, with two thirds (66%) of CFP professionals worldwide identifying as male.
The FPSB is the global provider of the Certified Financial Planner qualification and has 236,000 CFP members around the world. The CFP qualification has been offered in the UK via the CISI since 1995.
Mr De Gori said that a lot has been done in the UK and across the world to build a younger and more diverse CFP community.
The FSPB Network represents over 500,000 Financial Planners in 29 territories, including 236,300 CFP professionals. Of these CFP professionals, 1,098 are in the UK.

It is the biggest gathering of Certified Financial Planner professionals in the UK and the agenda has been developed in collaboration with the CISI Financial Planning Conference Committee.
