CPW acquires £220m AUM Creaseys Wealth joint venture
Private equity-funded Financial Planner Cooper Parry Wealth (CPW) has made its third acquisition this year by fully taking over its £220m AUM Tunbridge Wells-based joint venture Creaseys Wealth.
Creaseys Wealth was a joint business, set up in 2015 by Cooper Parry Wealth and accountants Creaseys, and based in the Creaseys' office in Tunbridge Wells.
The deal to full acquire Creaseys Wealth will mean CPW acquiring the second half of the joint venture which has grown to £220m in AUM.
Earlier this month CPW acquired Luton-based Chartered Financial Planning firm Chamberlyns for an undisclosed sum, boosting its assets under management to over £1.3bn and headcount to 70.
The latest acquisition is Cooper Parry’s third deal this year and the sixth acquisition for the wider Cooper Parry Group in 2023.
The joint venture with Creaseys was already run by the CPW team and CPW says that acquiring the other half means there will be no change to the advice and service received by clients.
CPW has acquired two other Financial Planning firms in 2023 including Future Perfect in April and Chamberlyns.
Stephen Jones, Cooper Parry Wealth CEO, said: “The joint venture has been an incredible success. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved together, but now, with the size Creaseys Wealth has reached (£220m AUM) and our future growth plans, it feels like the right time to simplify the business and take full ownership.
“For our clients, it will be very much business as usual. Since joining us in 2015 to head up Creaseys Wealth, Ben Waite and his team have been fundamental to the success we’ve had, and I’m excited to have them playing a key role in the continued growth of CPW.”
Cooper Parry Wealth was set up in 1999 and in 2010 changed direction by scrapping the traditional wealth management model and creating a new proposition focused on successful individuals and their families.
The firm partnered with Waterland Private Equity in 2022 to accelerate its plans to hit £4bn AUM by 2027. It has offices in the East Midlands, West Midlands and London.
