Cutting client stress is focus for World Planning Day
Research showing that Financial Planning can play a key role in reducing financial stress and worries for clients will be published to mark this year’s World Financial Planning Day on 4 October.
World Financial Planning Day is an annual global event to promote the benefits of Financial Planning.
It is organised by global CFP standards setting body the Financial Planning Standards Board and supported in the UK by the CISI professional body.
This year the seventh annual World Financial Planning Day will be held in partnership with the International Organization of Securities Commissions World Investor Week from 2-8 October.
The organisations will also broadcast a 'fireside chat' covering investment trends and sustainable finance on 4 October with FPSB chief executive Dante De Gori, CFP, and IOSCO secretary general Martin Moloney.
Dante De Gori said: “By creating a holistic financial plan with the help of a Financial Planner who has committed to putting clients’ interests first, like a CFP professional, individuals can build a roadmap to achieve their goals and feel better about their future.”
Meanwhile, FPSB and its network of Financial Planning professional bodies, representing more than 213,000 CFP professionals worldwide, will host a series of activities to raise awareness of the value of Financial Planning.
In the UK the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment will support World Financial Planning Day but has moved the UK's main Financial Planning Week - usually held to coincide with World Financial Planning Day - from October to January to better coincide with UK clients key Financial Planning key period.
The CISI plans to share findings from the FPSB’s global consumer research as well as host its Financial Planning Conference next week to help Financial Planners learn, share and debate all things Financial Planning.
Mr De Gori said: “I’m pleased that on this World Financial Planning Day we are able to celebrate the powerful impact Financial Planning has on individuals worldwide and help people discover the wide-ranging benefits Financial Planning can bring, including improved confidence in financial decision-making, ability to live your desired lifestyle and manage unexpected costs when life throws you a curve ball.”
