The FCA has issued a warning about an attempt to replicate its register on a non-FCA website.
Last night the watchdog warned firms and consumers that there was an effort to reproduce the Financial Services Register.
The FCA is working to get the page taken down and has alerted members of the public through its own website and social media channels.
The official Financial Services Register is the database of authorised firms and consumers and others are encouraged to check the bona fides of firms by referring to the register.
The domain that is not official is www.register-fca.org.
The FCA said: “We are aware that there has been an attempt to reproduce our Financial Services Register on a non-FCA website. We are currently working to get the page taken down and have alerted members of the public through our website and social media channels.”
