Financial Planner joins growing Scottish wealth manager
Adam & Company, the specialist Scottish wealth management firm and private bank, has hired Financial Planner Kevin Motion from Abrdn to help with its Financial Planning growth plans in Scotland following the acquisition of Glasgow-based £220m AUM Financial Planning firm Intelligent Capital in November.
Adam & Company is part of Canadian-owned Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management and plans to use the Intelligent Money acquisition to spur further growth in Financial Planning in Scotland.
Mr Motion, a senior hire, holds the CII Diploma in Financial Planning and specialises in retirement planning, pensions, investments, tax and estate planning. He works with individuals, families and business owner.
Prior to Adam and Company, he worked for Abrdn.

Wealth manager Canaccord Genuity acquired Glasgow-based Financial Planner Intelligent Capital in November for an undisclosed sum.
Intelligent Capital, based in West Nile Street, was founded in 1999 and is a Financial Planning business based in Glasgow, Scotland with £220m in client assets. It employs several Chartered Financial Planners.
Canaccord says it plans for Intelligent Capital and Adam & Company to become “a significant wealth management business in Scotland with further growth potential.”
Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management UK has £32.5bn of Assets Under Manager (as of June 2023). It employs more than 750 people in 14 offices in the UK and the Crown Dependencies. In Scotland, the firm operates under the Adam & Company brand.
