The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has punished four firms for making nearly 350,000 illegal pension cold calls since the ban on cold calling was instigated in 2019.

The Information Commissioner's Office has fined Halifax-based marketing company Parkin Beacher Ltd (PBL) £50,000 for making nearly 100,000 illegal marketing cold calls to people about their pensions.

The FCA has referred itself to the Information Commissioner’s Office after admitting a data breach mistake which could have exposed the names of complainants.
