Financial Planner Finli Group, formerly Solomon Capital Holdings, has made a further four Financial Planning firm acquisitions.
Finli acquired Beaufort Financial Taunton, Elaine Snow, Penny Smith and Lifestyle Financial Choices, at the end of March for undisclosed sums.
The firms are:
• Beaufort Financial Taunton is a Somerset-based independent financial advice firm founded by former Grosvenor Financial Services director Mark Cooper in 2014.
• Elaine Snow is a London-based IFA with over 50 years in the market.
• Penny Smith is a Merseyside-based IFA and formerly a partner at Sandringham Financial Partners for over 12 years.
• Lifestyle Financial Choices is a Cardiff-based Financial Planner established in 1999. The firm has two Financial Planners and one Paraplanner.
The acquisitions bring £220m worth of assets across Scotland, the north of England, central and southern England. Finli has over £5bn in AUM and has so far made 47 acquisitions. The firm has more than 100 Financial Planners looking after more than 20,000 clients, it said.
Jon Barham, acquisitions director at Finli, said the firm was continuing to look for more acquisitions.
He said: “People need top-quality financial advice more than ever and we want to grow Finli in the way that will best support this increasing demand while driving progression in the profession.
“We see expanding our local presence in the north of England, central England and southern regions as a key to further realising that ambition, and so we couldn’t be more pleased to have completed deals with these top-quality firms. Bringing more ambitious Financial Planners into the business who want to do right by their clients is an essential part of Finli’s long-term strategy, and we look forward to having more of these conversations over the coming months.”
The firm had already made two acquisitions this year, acquiring Somerset-based Schaefer Financial Management and Birmingham-based MMR Financial Planning.
Finli agreed to acquire Schaefer in February and MMR in March. According to the FCA Register, Schaefer Financial Management based in Bridgewater, Somerset was first registered in 1997 but has not been registered as an AR since 2018.
MMR Financial Planning was first registered in 2006 at Kingswinford in the West Midlands, according to the register.
Finli has an ambitious plan to add £1bn in assets each year and said it was open to speaking to adviser firms of all sizes - from £25m in assets under advice upwards.
Finli Group was established in 2021 under the name Solomon Capital Holdings by former Quilter Financial Planning CEO Andy Thompson and CFO Darren Sharke. Its objective is to become a prominent Financial Planning firm and it has acquired two foundation platforms - Beaufort Group and Gale and Phillipson - as well as five regional hubs and eight smaller acquisitions.
The group also owns You Asset Management, an investment management company with £2.2bn in FUM.
Finli is backed by private equity firm JC Flowers & Co. The firm has invested more than $18bn (£14.7bn), including co-investment, in 66 portfolio companies in 18 countries across a range of industry sub-sectors including banking, insurance and reinsurance, securities firms, specialty finance, and services and asset management.
