Firms preparing for IFP Financial Planning Week 2011
Ahead of Financial Planning Week in November, four IFP member firms have already begun come up with their own ideas.
Events include financial advice for charity, videos, newsletters and workshops. The four firms are Taylor Oliver, Jackson Financial Services, Informed Choice and Mowatt Financial Planning.
Steve Taylor CFPCM and Louise Oliver CFPCM from Taylor Oliver will be using Financial Planning Week to tie in with their fundraising efforts for local charity Neurocare.
They will be offering 60 minutes of financial advice on 17 and 24 November for a £20 charity donation.
Pete Matthew CFPCM from Jackson Financial Services will be promoting Financial Planning via his education website MeaningfulMoney.tv
The site has over 150 videos but especially for Financial Planning Week, he will be filming five live shows.
Mr Matthew said: “I feel like I’m sticking my neck out a bit, as there is much that can go wrong, but I’m excited about the challenge. Hopefully, the benefits of getting decent, easy to understand financial information out there will cover any gaffes!”
Martin Bamford CFPCM and his colleagues at Informed Choice will be hosting an Introduction to Financial Planning workshop on 24 November.
The workshop will introduce attendees to the elements of a financial plan and the use of lifetime cash flow forecasting.
Finally, Will Mowatt from Mowatt Financial Planning will be promoting Financial Planning and his firm on the radio, in the newspaper and via social media.
Mr Mowatt said: “I’ll be targeting local media, last year my local radio station helped by featuring a different angle each day- I hope they’ll do the same this year!
“I’ll also be contacting professional connections with a short feature on Financial Planning Week, sending our monthly newsletter focused on Financial Planning Week and promoting our video explaining the Financial Planning process.”
