FPSB announces new chairman elect following resignation
The global Financial Planning Standards Board has named Sanjay Sachdev as new chairman elect of its board of directors following the resignation of Barry Horner for health reasons.
Mr Sachdev will take up the role in 2015 and in the meantime will serve as chairman of the FPSB Council, an advisory body of the FPSB Board.
Steve Helmich, FPSB board chairman, said: "Sanjay is a CFP professional who has played an instrumental role in growing the Financial Planning profession and Certified Financial Planner certification in India, and who is now contributing to the profession's growth globally.
"As the founding chairperson of FPSB India, Sanjay brings a wealth of experience and deep knowledge of the issues affecting financial planners in developing markets.
"The board is grateful to Barry Horner for his service on the FPSB board over the past two years, and we're confident that Sanjay will lead FPSB with an equal level of enthusiasm and insight."

Barry Horner CFPCM is a former president of the IFP and owner of the successful Paradigm Norton Financial Planning company.
With 25 years of international business experience in India, Indonesia, South Africa and the USA, Mr Sachdev is chairman of Zyfin Capital Advisors, an investment firm focused on investments in the Middle East, India and ASEAN. He served as a member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India advisory board.
He said: "I'm proud of the work FPSB has undertaken to advance the Financial Planning profession around the world, and am honoured to play a role in leading the organisation at a time when Financial Planning is increasingly proving its value to members of the public seeking control of their financial futures."
