IFP sees strong interest in life planning and Paraplanning
The Institute of Financial Planning has seen a 44 per cent increase in the number of members interested in life planning.
In its online membership survey, 88 per cent of members said life planning was important or very important to their business.
This was up 44 per cent from 61 per cent in 2012.
A number of IFP members such as Tina Weeks from Serenity Financial Planning, Jeremy Deedes CFPCM from Planning for Life and Adam Young from Dragonfly Planning already offer life planning.
The number of people who viewed Paraplanning as important or very important to their business increased by 26 per cent from 65 per cent to 82 per cent.
The IFP is a strong supporter of Paraplanning and offers its own Certificate in Paraplanning and Paraplanner Conference.

Almost half of IFP members were using the IFP's CPD online platform to record and evidence their CPD hours. The IFP said the CPD platform was particularly useful if members had selected the IFP as their Accredited Body.
Members reported the RDR had made little impact on the way they charged fees and maintained independence.
The branch network was rated positively for the organisation, content, relevance and networking benefits at the meetings.
The IFP membership committee will be taking these findings and using them to work on a strategic plan for 2014.
