Nest, the auto-enrolment pension provider, has appointed former Skipton Building Society boss Ian Cornelius as interim chief executive following the departure of Helen Dean.

Auo-enrolment pension provider Nest has joined the Association of British Insurers (ABI), the major trade body for the insurance and long-term savings sector.

Helen Dean is to step down as CEO of the UK’s largest pension scheme, the government-backed Nest, which focuses on auto-enrolment.

The percentage of Nest’s 9m pension savers opting out of auto enrolment has increased from 6% to 9% following the second increase in minimum auto enrolment contributions.
