SIPP provider Berkeley Burke has been ordered to pay almost £1m in costs to people left out of pocket after making high-risk unregulated investments which were accepted into the firm’s SIPPs. 

The High Court has consented to an order by which UCIS firms and directors will pay funds to the FCA for distribution to investors.

The FCA has today published Decision Notices in respect of three firms and five individuals who it says acted “without integrity” over pension transfers which affected 2,000 customers and £76m in pension assets.

A group of fraudsters were jailed for a combined 17 years and nine months today for their part in an elaborate wine investment scam which conned nearly £1m out of investors, many of which were elderly and vulnerable.
