The Financial Conduct Authority has continued its crypto crackdown by using its powers to inspect several sites in East London suspected of hosting illegally-operating crypto ATMs.

The FCA has teamed up with the police to take joint action at a number of sites around Leeds suspected of hosting illegally-operated crypto ATMs.

The government says that crypto trading and crypto assets will be "robustly" regulated under new proposals published today.

The Financial Conduct Authority has ruled out allowing access to bodies such as the Financial Services Compensation Scheme for crypto currency investors, even if they have received advice.
