Jon Everill appointed as new PFS president
The Personal Finance Society has appointed a new president to replace Edward Grant.
Jon Everill was announced as the new president at the annual general meeting held earlier this week.
Mr Everill joined the Board of the PFS in November 2009 and became vice-president in 2010.
Mr Everill said: “It is an honour to be elected president of the PFS. I would particularly like to pay tribute to all that Eddie has achieved as president and I intend to continue this good work and maintain the positive momentum the organisation currently enjoys.”
He also encouraged members to “embrace the RDR and the opportunity it presents for our profession.”
Mr Everill has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years and is a former director of Bluefin.
He co-founded financial services group Destini in 2003, which later merged with Thinc Group in 2005.
Thinc Destini was sold to AXA UK in 2006 and rebranded as Bluefin in 2009 where Mr Everill was responsible for developing client propositions and overseeing the group’s investment strategy.
He left Bluefin in 2010 and is now managing director of J&L Consulting Ltd and commercial director at Time4Advice, a software business to support financial advisers.
He will remain in the president’s role for the next 12 months.
David Thomas, joint managing director of Chadney Bulgin, and Nick Turner, director of UK partnerships at AXA UK, were also announced as new members of the board.
