- PFS warns that soaring PI costs are hurting advisers
Kingswood hires 2 advisers in recruitment push
Fast growing Financial Planning group Kingswood has hired two experienced advisers for its London and Kent offices.
The firm has hired Max Sullivan, formerly of Sandringham Financial Partners and Quilter Financial Planning, and Jade Rose, from Byblos Bank and previous a Financial Planner at St James’s Place Wealth Management.
The company’s recruitment drive follows a busy period of acquisitions. Kingswood has made six acquisitions so far this year, including most recently Smith Pearman & Associates, an IFA based in Hampshire, with the deal completed on 1 August.
Mr Sullivan is a qualified financial adviser with over five years experience in financial services. In his new role he will provide holistic advice to clients needing Financial Planning and wealth management, with a focus on investments, retirement planning and intergenerational wealth planning. He will also be leading Kingswood’s partnership with Irwin Mitchell LLP in the South of England.
Before joining Kingswood, Mr Sullivan was a director for a specialist IFA firm under Sandringham Financial Partners (part of M&G), and acquisitions manager at Quilter. He has also worked for TSB Bank in a variety of roles. He is currently on the path to Chartered Adviser status.
Ms Rose, previously a customer officer at Byblos Bank, is a qualified wealth planner and has over eight years’ experience in financial services. In her new role at Kingswood, she will provide financial advice to entrepreneurs and those in the creative industries.
The appointments follow a busy year for Kingswood with record revenue and operating profit in 2021. Revenue reached £149.7m over the past 12 months, up 488% compared to 2020, and operating profit increased by £5.5m to £6.3m, reflecting acquisitions in the UK and growth in the US.
Hayley Burton, managing director and head of wealth planning at Kingswood, said: “We are thrilled to welcome both Max and Jade to Kingswood. The passion and energy they have for their clients present a natural fit to Kingswood while having a diversified and highly skilled team is essential in helping the firm to unlock its full potential and stimulate growth. We believe Max and Jade will be excellent additions, each with their specialised skillsets, enabling us to provide an even more tailored customer service.”
