Adviser platform Nucleus has launched a charitable foundation which will encourage more women to become Financial Planners.

The Nucleus Foundation will work alongside charities who support the education and development of women into careers in Financial Planning.

It will also support local community causes, adopting a place-based-giving approach to providing grants and financial assistance to causes in the locations where Nucleus is based across the UK. 

The foundation also aims to help support disadvantaged people who are retired or approaching retirement age, by providing grants and working alongside organisations who help those without access to financial advice or pension products.

Nucleus’ foundation will also offer employee sponsorship and donation boosters and allocate targeted support for employees and their families in times of hardship.

The foundation will be launched with £750,000 funded by the business.

It will be governed by a committee of independent and staff trustees, including eight employee trustees from across its locations in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Salisbury.

Nucleus received Charity Commission approval for the foundation earlier this month, meaning it can now begin work as a registered charity.
