Aegon’s adviser platform saw a drop in net outflows to £1,447m in the first half of 2025.
The net flows are an 18% year-on-year improvement for the platform which reported net outflows of £1,761m for the first half of 2024.
Aegon said the continuing outflows “reflected ongoing consolidation and vertical integration in non-target adviser segment” and the platform continues to expect to return to growth by 2028.
Its plans to return to growth include “improving the platform experience” and focusing on 500 target adviser firms.
The adviser platform ended the first half with £51,834m of assets under administration (30 June 2024: £51,625m).
Total platform assets under administration (including Aegon’s workplace platform and adviser platform) rose 7% year on year to £118,249m (30 June 2024: £110,660m). The increase in assets was primarily driven by market movements during the period.
Including institutional and traditional products, Aegon had £226,166m of assets under administration in the UK at the end of the first half, a rise of 4% year-on-year.
The overall parent firm saw a net profit of EUR 606m, compared with a net loss of EUR 65m for the first half of 2024.
The firm also announced a strategic review into moving the firm’s legal domicile and head office to the USA.
Lard Friese, CEO of Aegon, said: “Today we are announcing an important step for our company, as we will begin a review on a potential relocation of Aegon’s head office to the United States. In recent years, Aegon’s business in the United States – which accounts for approximately 70% of Aegon’s operations – has become Aegon’s primary market and central to the company’s strategy and long-term growth.
“A relocation of Aegon’s legal domicile and head office to the United States is expected to simplify Aegon’s corporate structure as it would align its legal domicile, tax residency, accounting standard and regulatory framework with the geography where it conducts the majority of its business.”
Aegon will make a decision on redomiciling the firm by 10 December.
