The Personal Finance Society (PFS) is looking for a member director to join its board and has asked for applications by mid-January.
It said the successful applicant will be given “an excellent opportunity to shape the Society’s strategy and make a visible impact on the future of the profession.”
The PFS said it is looking for members “who can bring insight, experience and diverse perspectives to support the Society’s vision and mission.”
It is an unpaid role, although the PFS said reasonable expenses, including travel and subsistence, will be reimbursed.
The PFS said new member director will be expected to:

- Uphold the highest standards of governance, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide insight into emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the profession.
- Act as an ambassador for the Society and its values and support the Society’s mission to maintain public trust and advance professional excellence.
The PFS said the new member director will also undertake member-facing responsibilities, including:
- Attending the Annual Officers’ Conference, AGM and Annual Personal Finance Awards.
- Supporting the President by representing them at regional meetings and other Member focused events.
In total, the member director should expect to attend a minimum of four to six board meetings each year, plus a strategy day, the Annual Officers’ Conference, the Personal Finance Awards, the AGM, and at least one regional meeting, the PFS said.
