PI provider offers counselling to Planners
Professional indemnity insurance provider Barerock has introduced free mental health support to Financial Planning firm owners, senior managers and employees.
The provider will cover the cost of up to 10 counselling sessions for policyholders.
Barerock’s offer is subject to a £2,000 cost cap, but will not see the Financial Planning client pay any policy excess.
It will be added to Barerock’s offering at no extra cost during the fourth quarter of this year, and will be available to both new and existing policyholders.
The programme aims to support the wellbeing of Planners who have policies with the firm that are facing high-stress complaint situations.
Jonathan Newell, CEO and founder of Barerock, said: “By offering compassionate support on a human level, alongside technical and strategic assistance during complaint situations, we can help our Club Members better manage the emotional and mental toll of dealing with stressful complaint situations. This mental health and wellbeing support is a great demonstration of our commitment to our customers and to the FCA's vulnerable customer's guidance.”
Counselling services will be offered by Corporate Personal Wellbeing as standard, but policyholders will also be free to chose any counsellor accredited by either the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
The announcement was timed to coincide with World Mental Health day today, which is focusing on improving mental health at work.
