Discretionary investment management company PortfolioMetrix has appointed UK CIO Alex Funk to be CEO from 1 January 2026.
He will replace founder Brandon Zietsman who will take on the role of executive chair.
In further changes to the firm’s global executive team, Sharné Sanders becomes chief commercial officer, Oscar Reitsma becomes chief operating officer and Natalie Horton is appointed chief financial officer.
Mr Funk will retain his investment responsibilities alongside the role of CEO. The investment team will be led by chief investment officer Phil Bradford supported by head of global investment strategy Brendan de Jongh.
The firm said Mr Zietsman will continue to work closely with Mr Funk in his new position as executive chair. He will focus on group strategic initiatives, key partner relationships, and the evolution of the business.
Mr Funk said: “Taking on the responsibilities of CEO presents a wonderful opportunity, and I value the trust and guidance Brandon continues to provide as we focus on the next phase of our growth. We are at an inflection point where the groundwork of recent years is translating into real strategic momentum.”
Mr Zietsman said: “The revised executive structure will create a more balanced leadership presence across regions, reflecting the firm’s international focus and ambitions.”
