Wealth manager Quilter has donated £50,000 to the international appeal from the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in response to the Coronavirus crisis.
The donation is in addition to the £193,000 already contributed by the Quilter Foundation to the National Emergencies Trust Covid-19 appeal. This appeal sought to deliver urgent support to vulnerable groups in the UK impacted by the crisis.
Quilter has also said it will match funds raised by employees donating to the DEC appeal.
The DEC appeal seeks to deliver urgent support to vulnerable and displaced people in areas where basic healthcare provision, sanitation and nutrition issues have been exacerbated by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Paul Feeney, CEO of Quilter said: “Throughout this crisis we have seen the way humanity can come together, for those close to us as well as for communities all around the world. This virus has taken a huge personal toll on many and unfortunately will continue to do so for some time. As a result, it is vital that we support appeals such as this one from the Disasters Emergency Committee and assist those who need it most.
“I have been incredibly fortunate to see the support and commitment displayed by our colleagues in helping good causes, and I hope this latest appeal means we can continue to aid people through this crisis.”
