Quilter network adds 5 new AR firms
Quilter Financial Planning has added five new Appointed Representative firms to its advice network.
Two of the principals from the five firms join the Quilter network having previously worked at wealth manager St James’s Place.
The new sign ups are:
• Former SJP adviser Chris Bibby spent eight years with the firm before launching Liverpool-based Bibby & Co and joining the Quilter network as an AR this year.
• Anthony Poole previously worked as an adviser for SJP before launching Adams and Poole Financial Services with Sam Adams, a former AR for New Leaf Distribution. The pair have now joined the Quilter network. Mr Poole is based in Manchester and Mr Adams is based in Uttoxeter.
• The third firm to join the network as an AR is Personal Finance Matters, a family practice based in Wolverhampton and led by principal Babita Nahal alongside her brother Anil Duggal. The siblings decided to launch their own Financial Planning business following 16 years as a mortgage advice practice.
• James Joseph Generational Wealth Planning is based in Essex and run by principal Tony Farrell, a chartered adviser who holds over 35 years of industry experience.
• Redgate Financial Ltd is a wealth management firm based near Bromley, run by principal Edward Tory, and his wife, Emily Tory. Mr Tory has worked as a qualified adviser for the past six years prior to launching Redgate Financial Ltd.
Stephen Fryett, managing director of Quilter Financial Planning, said the network expects to welcome more AR firms next year.
He said: “We are delighted to welcome five more high-quality firms to the Quilter Financial Planning network after a successful year. We look forward to collaborating closely with these firms, supporting their growth and development plans. Throughout 2024, we have welcomed numerous new firms and anticipate welcoming many more in the coming year.”
Quilter recently committed to undertake a review of historical data and practices across its Appointed Representative firms in the Quilter Financial Planning network. The review will investigate if the AR Firms in the QFP network met their ongoing servicing obligations to customers and, if not, "remediate customers" appropriately.
In its latest quarterly results, Quilter said that a skilled person was appointed to undertake this work in June, and the firm expects to be able to update on the outcomes of this work in early 2025.
