Rayner Spencer Mills publishes guide to help advisers choose platforms
Financial research company Rayner Spencer Mills has published its Spring 2013 platform adviser guide.
This guide, which has been published regularly by the firm since 2006, places emphasis on the benefits that platforms provide to Financial Planners and their clients.
It seeks to help advisers simplify the decision-making process of choosing a platform by examining specific features offered by individual platforms as well as general features such as scale, support and functionality.
The firm said the five main advantages to Financial Planners using a platform were a clear representation of a client's financial position, streamlined reporting, easy access to tax wrappers, simplified documentation and lower transactional charges.

Contents of the guide include platform adviser guide, platform factsheets, due diligence guide and regulatory factsheet.
Geoff Mills, director at Rayner Spencer Mills, said: "Our platform guide is there to provide advisers with a robust, objective analysis on the platform choices available. With regulators currently questioning the value of platforms, we felt it imperative to address the issue head on by underscoring the many benefits that platforms provide to advisers as well as their clients."
The guide is available via the Rayner Spencer Mills website at http://www.rsmgroup.co.uk/guides/platformguide/
