Scottish Widows hires annuities director after Budget reforms
Scottish Widows has announced two senior appointments including a new annuities and retirement income director as the company focuses on adapting to the reforms in the Budget.
The firm said it has underlined its long term commitment to the annuities and retirement market with the appointment of Stuart Paton Evans to the newly created director level role.
Meanwhile, Nick Prettejohn has been made an independent non-executive director and chairman of Scottish Widows Group.
Mr Paton Evans, who starts the job on 6 May, has almost twenty-five years of experience in the insurance industry, working at Hannover Re, Swiss Re and GE Insurance Solutions.
He will spearhead growth and the development of new retirement income solutions covering annuities, income drawdown and other options that can help customers manage their income throughout retirement.

Richard Jones, director, annuities, bancassurance and protection at Scottish Widows said: "I am delighted to welcome Stuart to Scottish Widows and his in-depth experience, expertise and knowledge will be integral in helping us achieve our ambition of being the leading player in the at retirement market.

Lord Blackwell, chairman of Lloyds Banking Group, said: "We are delighted to welcome Nick to the group.
"Nick has significant financial services experience, particularly in insurance where he has served as chief executive of Lloyd's of London and Prudential UK and Europe as well as chairman of Brit Insurance."
