The Institute of Financial Planning's chief executive kick started the Accredited Financial Planning Firms Conference this morning, saying the IFP hopes to build up numbers to get 100 Accredited Firms. Steve Gazzard CFPCM, gave the welcome address at 9am to the conference delegates at Sopwell House in St Albans and told them it was great to see them, in particular Nick Cann, following his illness last year. He said: "Welcome to you all, especially to Nick Cann who has joined us for our third Accredited Firms Conference. "We've got a really good venue here in Sopwell House. It was the home to the Mount Batten family and more recently the England football team. "I've already had some positive feedback regarding the agenda. It was based on what you wanted to see." He announced a target of gaining 100 Accredited Firms and said work had been done on enhancing the website and video content. He encouraged more IFP members to take a role on the Accredited Firms committee as well as the membership and education committees, saying it was a worthwhile position to take up and one which does not take too much time. He asked delegates to provide more feedback at the end of the conference.
