Tilney adds investment team in North East
Tilney, part of wealth management and Financial Planning group Tilney Smith & Williamson, had established a new investment management team at its Newcastle office.
Tilney has provided Financial Planning services to its clients in Newcastle for 10 years and now has 16 people based in city. The launch of the new team means that clients in the North East will be able to have their investment portfolios managed by a locally based team.
Managing partner David Smith and his team have been joined at the firm’s office at Quayside House by Matthew Burgess to head the new investment team. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager and was previously at Tilney’s Liverpool office.
Angus Wilson has also joined the new team from Brewin Dolphin as assistant investment manager. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and is currently working towards his Masters in Wealth Management.
David Smith, managing partner of Tilney’s Newcastle office, said: “Investment management is the engine that drives Financial Planning and I look forward to working closely with Matthew and Angus as we introduce the team to new and existing clients.
“We have long believed in a dual expert approach of combining Financial Planning and investment management to deliver a very joined up wealth management service, but feedback we regularly get from our clients is that they value the ability to meet with people based in the North East.”
Tilney said it expects to grow the Newcastle-based investment management team further.
