HNW-focused investment manager Wealth Club has expanded its Private Markets SIPP platform with the addition of the Bridgepoint Generations Fund.
The firm said the move gives eligible investors access to one of the world's leading mid-market investors via a familiar pension wrapper.
The number of funds available through the Private Markets SIPP has climbed to 16 across 12 managers, including Brookfield, CVC, EQT, StepStone and Franklin Lexington.
In total, Wealth Club now offers access to 22 private market funds from 17 managers, with further additions expected in the coming months.
It said there’s growing interest in private markets from individual investors seeking access to opportunities that have traditionally been available only to institutions and ultra-high-net-worth investors.
Susannah Streeter, chief investment strategist at Wealth Club, said: "Adding Bridgepoint to the SIPP platform means individual investors have even greater access to institutional-quality private market strategies through a pension wrapper.
“This could not have been better timed given that so many of today's most exciting businesses are staying private for longer, meaning a greater proportion of value creation is happening away from listed markets.”
She said one of the attractions of the Bridgepoint Generations Fund is the breadth of exposure it provides across different areas of private equity such as established European businesses, high-growth companies and opportunities linked to the energy transition, all within a single fund structure.
Bridgepoint’s historic investments include brands such as Pret A Manger, Vermaat, the Dutch catering group, and Dorna Sports, the rights holder of MotoGP.
David Walsh, partner, Bridgepoint Private Wealth, said: “SIPPs are designed for long-term retirement savings, which aligns closely with the long-term nature of private equity investing. For eligible UK investors, it provides access to Bridgepoint’s mid-market platform through a familiar pension wrapper, alongside the same investment discipline, governance and portfolio construction that underpin our institutional strategies.”
Wealth Club was founded in 2016 by former Hargreaves Lansdown director Alex Davies. The business has been offering private market funds to investors outside of a tax wrapper for just over a year. It launched its private markets SIPP in March.
