Expanding national Financial Planner Wren Sterling has acquired £700m AUM City Financial in Scotland to double its presence north of the border.

City Financial has joined Wren Sterling’s growing Scottish operation.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, adds 6,000 clients and 38 team members to Wren Sterling, including 19 Financial Planners.

City Financial’s three locations in Scotland, Aberdeen, Ellon and Inverness, have joined Wren Sterling.

The City Financial deal is Wren Sterling's third acquisition of 2025 and Wren Sterling says it has further deals planned as the company aims for organic growth and “strategic acquisitions.”

Wren Sterling has acquired several Financial Planning and wealth management firms in recent times, including completing three deals in March with the acquisition of Perth-based JLS Associates in Scotland, Kent-based Investment Choices Wealth Management and Cotswolds-based Broadway Financial Planning.
