Alliance Trust Savings recruits new duo
Alliance Trust Savings has bolstered its intermediary sales team, with a new duo joining the company.
Rob McDonnell becomes head of strategic partnerships, following the company’s acquisition of Stocktrade earlier this year and brings over 20 years’ experience in the retail financial services sector to the company.
He has previously held positions as head of business development at Sanlam Private Wealth (UK) and senior sales roles with Distribution Technology and Cofunds.
Ron Gillies joins as business development manager for the north region from Freedom Asset Managers, where he was head of UK sales.
His new role will involve him working alongside Craig Dawson, business development manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, and Chris McDonald.
Mr Gillie has over 30 years’ experience in financial services sales roles and he has previously withheld senior positions at Renaissance Asset Managers and Cofunds as well.
He has also held senior sales positions at Fidelity Investments and National Provident.
Ed Carey, Alliance Trust Savings’ Sales director, said: “We are continuing to see strong demand for the platform, particularly within our advised channel, boosted by the recent upgrade to GBST’s Composer platform and the ability to work with discretionary fund managers including 7IM, Tatton and PortfolioMetrix.
“These new features, alongside our unique flat fee pricing model, make Alliance Trust Savings an extremely compelling proposition within the intermediary platform market. Rob and Ron, alongside Craig, Chris and the rest of the intermediary sales team have a key role.”
