And next up, the Financial Wellbeing news…
The Personal Finance Society, the 40,000-member professional body, has enlisted the help of ITN Productions to produce a news-style programme called Financial Wellbeing.
The PFS hopes the show will encourage more consumers to save and help reverse a “dramatic fall” in the savings ratio in recent years.
The programme will be launched in November at the Personal Finance Society’s Festival of Financial Planning and will be anchored by a national newsreader. It will look at challenges and opportunities consumers face and how Financial Planners can help.
The show will invite experts from the Financial Planning profession to share examples of advice, best practice and initiatives that help consumers.
The programme will also explore key areas of “consumer confusion” including how and where to get suitable financial advice, retirement income options and how to recognise a scam.
Financial Wellbeing will also look at financial education services and guidance which could help individuals unable to afford or access professional financial advice.
The programme will form part of an extensive campaign featuring PFS members and professional partners, as well as journalists, writers, bloggers and relevant government departments.
Keith Richards, chief executive of the Personal Finance Society, said: “We are pleased to work with ITN Productions to produce an educational and informative programme about the value of consumers engaging in Financial Planning and their financial wellbeing.”
“I look forward to the programme premiering at the Festival of Financial Planning in November.”
Elizabeth Fisher-Robins, head of ITN Productions Industry News, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Personal Finance Society to produce a programme raising awareness of the Financial Planning profession, bridging the financial advice gap and highlighting the consumer tools and techniques available to avoid the scam artists and make the right decisions.”
