Barbed wire and fire awaits bobsleighing CFP pro
A Financial Planner is getting ready to run through fire and crawl under barbed wire this month.
Tracey Underwood CFPCM is swapping the office for a disused World War II airfield as she takes on a mud-infested obstacle laden run.
The managing director at DB Wood in Nottingham, whose previous adrenaline fuelled activities have included bobsleigh and skeleton, is taking part in the 10k Airfield Anarchy challenge on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June.
Described as “super-tough”, the East Midlands event, require entrants to climb, slide, crawl, wade and jump their way to the finish line, navigating 40 obstacles, both man-made and natural, located throughout the run.

It is held at the site of disused World War II airfield RAF Winthorpe.
Tracey, who has taken part in a number of mud runs before and described herself as “a bit mad”, said: “I get bored very easily and I find running really boring so throw a few obstacles in the way and some mud and it gets interesting.”
She said: “There will be tyre walls, running through fire, wading through water and going through barbed wire under water, tunnels, and so on.
“I think I enjoy it because it’s working as part of a team, it’s about not taking things too seriously and it’s that physical challenge, more than just running. It breaks up the monotony of running and gets very dirty.”
She will be part of a team of four – including colleague Ashley Brooks, DB Wood’s chief executive and her husband Steve.
She said her husband hadn’t originally wanted to get involved with the mud runs but has taken to it and now tries to outperform her.
She had this advice for others thinking of taking up the challenge: “Make sure you have a pair of trainers you don’t mind trashing, you may never see them again!”
Adrenaline fuelled challenges that she has taken on in the past include the three peaks challenge and bobsleigh and skeleton in Lillehammer, Norway, which she described as the “best experience ever - the adrenaline is amazing”.
Though she admitted: “It was the longest one minute of my life on the skeleton."
Mount Everest Base camp is another challenge she will take on, just for fun, later this year.
