Well known Financial Planner Andy Jervis CFP, one of the first people in the UK to achieve CFP status, has been appointed by the CISI as President of its East Midlands branch.

The veteran planner, who is chairman and founder of Chesterton House Financial Planning in Loughborough, takes over from David Spokes Chartered FCSI of Brewin Dolphin who held the position for the last three years.

Chesterton House is based in Loughborough and provides long-term Financial Planning, investment, accounting and legal advice to clients from across the UK.

Mr Jervis was one of the first Financial Planners in the UK and the area to qualify for the CFP licence and was long term supporter of the Institute of Financial Planning which merged with the CISI in 2015. He was at one time Birmingham Branch Chairman for the Institute of Financial Planning.

He is a Loughborough man, having been born a few miles from the town and, although his five children are grown up, his six grandchildren help ensure that he has his hands full outside of work, he says.

Mr Jervis said: “This is a brilliant time to be a Financial Planner, with strong and rising demand for advice and services from an ageing but increasingly wealthy population.

“The dramatic improvements in technology, changes in legislation and practice, and ever-developing client needs make it essential for practitioners to be well qualified, up-to-date and able to communicate expertly and clearly.

“The CISI is ideally placed to deliver training in these skills, with an outstanding range of resources for members. I am delighted to be able to work with members to continue to build these resources in the East Midlands area. Hopefully we can also have some fun at the same time!”
