Chartered Planner launches weekly retirement podcast
Justin King, a Chartered Financial Planner and SOLLA member, has launched a weekly ‘Retirement Cafe’ Podcast to help consumers get ready for life after work.
The Retirement Café Podcast will launch tomorrow (Tues 27 Nov).
The podcast for consumers recognises, says Mr King, that the transition into retirement is a life-changing event, not just a financial one. It requires great planning as well as a need to address challenges and opportunities “face on.”
With 23 percent of the population aged 60 or over and the majority of these 15m people retired, Mr King believes there could be a large audience for his podcast which tackles more than just finances.
Justin King is a Chartered Financial Planner and SOLLA Accredited Later Life Adviser with Christchurch-based retirement planners MFP Wealth Management and also a Kinder Institute Life Planner.
He said: “Retirement life represents a huge opportunity to grow as you are freed from the ties of work. In my experience, with this new-found freedom can come a lot of fear.
“The Retirement Café Podcast aims to help people feel more informed and confident about all aspects of their retirement.”
The weekly podcasts will include interviews with experts, tips, information and guidance.
The podcast idea follows on the heels of a series of Retirement Café events launched by Mr King, founder of MFP, 18 months ago.
The events brought together experts on retirement-related topics from dementia to Powers of Attorney and retirement planning to funding care over free coffee and cake.
The Podcast will launch tomorrow (Tuesday 27 November) with an interview about Inheritance Tax Planning with Kurt Lee of Lester Aldridge.
