Chartered Financial Planning firm Cockburn Lucas has expanded its Cockburn Lucas for Women service with a new hire.

Rebecca Hoe has joined the Financial Planning team at the East Midlands-based firm and will also be helping to expand sister company Cockburn Lucas for Women.

Established in 2016, Cockburn Lucas for Women is a Financial Planning service run "by women, for women."

Ms Hoe has worked in financial services for 25 years, including 21 years in her previous role at wealth manager Brown Shipley.

She said: “It has been a huge step changing roles after 21 years at my previous company, but it felt like the time was right. I am really excited about this next step in my career and the opportunity to work with the team at CL4Women. It has only been a number of weeks but already feels like a good fit.”

Cockburn Lucas was established in 1997 to provide Financial Planning and advice to private clients, companies and family trusts. The firm holds Chartered status via the Chartered Insurance Institute. The business is 100% owned by its management.

According to a report from Barclays Private Bank in December, women felt less understood by their financial advisers. Fewer women felt their attitude to investing was understood by their adviser (75%) than men (86%).

Over 82% of women from high-net-worth families are set to inherit substantial wealth over the next 20 years but 41% are currently not involved in family decisions on investments, according to the report.
