Martin Brown, founder and managing partner of national IFA firm Continuum, will retire and step down at the end of August after more than a decade leading the business.
Jim Reeve, current non-executive director and chair of Continuum, will become interim managing partner of the M&G-owned firm, subject to regulatory approval.
Headquartered in Plymouth, Continuum is a wholly-owned business within M&G Advice, M&G’s financial advice business.
Mr Brown, 60, founded Continuum in 2014 after holding senior roles at Openwork and Positive Solutions. Under his leadership, Continuum has built up more than £3bn of assets under management and advice, reporting record half year results for 2026.
Continuum’s annualised turnover projection for 2026 forecast double-digit figure rises of 19% to £21.96m. The growth in assets was driven by new business and existing client asset growth. New business written in the first quarter was £1.3m and ongoing recurring income rose 25% year-on-year.
Mr Brown will continue to support the business through a transition period until the end of the year. Mr Reeve will step into the managing partner role from September on an interim basis while the board recruits a permanent successor.
Mr Brown said: "When we founded Continuum, the ambition was to build a business centred on quality advice, exceptional adviser support and always doing the right thing for clients. As part of M&G Advice, Continuum is well placed for the future. Jim understands our culture and values, and I know Continuum is in excellent hands. I look forward to supporting the transition and seeing the business continue to succeed while I enjoy my retirement."
Ross Liston, CEO of M&G Advice said: “Martin has built a thriving business by creating a strong adviser community and establishing a culture focused on delivering great outcomes for clients. We thank him for everything he has achieved, congratulate him on a remarkable career and wish him well with his retirement.”
